Joint Venture Business Model Workshops – BOT, PPP’s, BOOT

The Situation

The Zimbabwean Government was committed to attract private sector financing and expertise to the development and delivery of infrastructure projects across Zimbabwe. However there was considered to be a lack of knowledge, awareness and expertise in regards to the delivery of Joint Ventures.

The Solution

In March 2018, the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe, in a technical partnership with Mupazano Advisory and Africa PPP Advisory, hosted full day workshops in both Harare and Bulawayo on Joint Ventures. The purpose of these workshops was to provide awareness and knowledge on how to successfully participate in joint ventures to parties interested in Joint Ventures. Presentations on Joint Ventures across the full day of workshops included an introduction, case studies, information about the state of Joint Ventures in Zimbabwe and different perspectives from advisors.

Our Assistance

We were vital to the success of the workshops through our provision of expert input and technical support in developing the materials and programme for the workshops, including the presentation slides, facilitator notes, case studies as well as providing post – workshop advice to project associates. We also conducted a quality review and signed off on conference marketing material, including a newspaper advert. Further to this we provided the contractual arrangements and other relative agreements with project associates to ensure the workshops went ahead.
